Breakfast Workshop

LINEA BRUKER (1)

Monday Breakfast Workshop at ASMS 2023

Driving Paradigm Shifts: Moving Towards Chromatography-Free Workflows in Forensics Analysis

LINEA BRUKER (1)

This workshop will focus on workflows for urine screening and seized drugs that save considerable time and cost compared to conventional chromatography-based analyses. Direct Analysis in Real Time (DART) will be shown to provide very rapid screening of samples, both from human samples and seized material.  Toxicology panels of drugs in urine can be screened rapidly by DART linked to the Bruker EVOQ® triple quadrupole and those requiring confirmation earmarked for LC-MS targeted confirmation using the same MS system.  DART screening takes a few seconds per sample compared to several minutes via conventional LC-MS targeted workflows.  Mixtures of seized drugs can also be rapidly analysed using trapped ion mobility spectrometry (TIMS) and DART.  Examples will be shown of TIMS separation linked to DART with confirmation via accurate library search routines.

When: Monday, June 5th, 7am-8am

Where: Room 370CF, George Brown Convention Center
